The toothbrush holder. Just like your reliable keyboards, toothbrushes and other toiletries are regularly used and we neglect cleaning their holders or containers. The toothbrush that you are using may appear to be clean, but where you place the toothbrush after use may be a good spot for bacterial or mold growth.

How to clean it: It is recommended to brush your hand before and after brushing your teeth. Once done brushing, make sure that you rinse your toothbrush thoroughly and keep it dry before placing it to your holder. This will avoid moisture to accumulate over time.

The washing machine. If left unchecked, the bacteria and other nasty stuff from your clothes can stay inside your machine tumbler. The moisture can also make it a breeding ground for mold.

How to clean it: Keep the lids of your machine open after use. To clean an existing mold, you can use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar to spray and wipe down the affected surfaces.

The dishwasher. This machine can invite the growth of germs and mold if it is kept warm and damp. If ignored, it can be dangerous for your family’s respiratory health. And worse, mold can contaminate your plates and utensils.

How to clean it: Use a dry paper towel to remove any crumbs or bits of food that stay in the washer after each dishwashing cycle. Make sure to regularly run a cycle with a dishwasher cleaning tablet at least once a month.

How to clean it: tidy up your supplies and make sure that your boxes and containers are tightly sealed. Wipe out the stains with a wet clean cloth. Spray detergent on hard-to-remove stains. Make sure that you leave no trace of crumbs and other food dust where the pests can feed on.
