It’s a misconception you don’t need to break the bank to make your home look plusher. Although we’re not going to tell you that spending money won’t help, however there are certainly ways of improving your interior at little cost. Here’s some tips.

Freshen Up

It’s a well-known fact that a coat of paint never goes amiss and it’s a relatively inexpensive and easy way to brighten up your room. Although many of us go for light colours to keep our interior bright, however dark colours are a fantastic way to get that classical, rich feel. Be careful however, keep the balance right by going for lighter colours for furniture if you have dark walls. If you’re lucky enough to have solid or engineered wood floors, then sanding them down and refinishing them can make it look like you’ve purchased brand new floors!

Change The Lights!

Although you’re probably thinking that you might already do this, you’d be surprised by how many of us let those dingey energy saving bulbs hang around for. Replacing those tired old bulbs with bright news ones will really lift your interior. New light fixtures will work well too, chandeliers offering a really grand look. There’s also plenty of stylish lamps available.

Flowers!

Such an easy way to brighten up your interior! Artificial plants and flowers from Koch & Co are a great and easy option for a splash of lively colours. Kitchen hallway or dresser, flowers will improve any room. You change them frequently too so you can keep things interesting.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall…

Every grand house has an abundance of mirrors. A good rule to follow is to place them across from the room’s entrance to give the illusion of more space.

Increase Texture

It’s all about texture in expensive homes. Large velvet cushions, soft rugs and throws can make things look nice and dear. Play with colours such as red, burgundy, emerald green royal blue and purple for a grand look!

Paintings

It’s no secret that paintings make for a grand interior. You don’t need to spend loads either on masterpieces, you can go down to the local charity shop and pick up some nice pieces!
